When we launched Creator TV in January this year, one of the first people I told was...my mom. The convo went something like:
ME: We launched Creator Television! That new network I told you about.
MOM: Wow! Is it on Netflix?
ME: No, it’s actually a free channel and you can watch it on...
MOM: Your Dad doesn’t know how to get to Netflix on the TV.
ME: No, it’s a new channel. Remember...we work with creators to...
MOM: It would be nice if it’s on Netflix. Maybe you can work at Netflix!
ME: ...
So yeah, it may take time for folks to get what we’re doing. But it’s about the journey, isn’t it? Starting a new ANYTHING is challenging. But I couldn’t be more excited about our mission, and I couldn’t be more grateful to work alongside the amazing teams at Sabio, App Science, and Creator Television. We’ve come a long way from the starting line - at least 3 major pivots since we started building this thing. And along the way, we’ve celebrated some wins.
Last month we announced Creator TV is now streaming on Amazon Fire TV Channels — a free, ad-supported streaming experience available across all Fire TV, Fire Tablet, and Echo Show devices in the U.S. Amazon Fire TV Channels brings together live, on-demand, and short-form content, making it easy to discover news, sports, music videos, lifestyle, and entertainment – all right from the home screen and under the “Free” tab. And now you can watch our amazing creator partners on this platform.
This announcement just speaks to the speed of our growth. Within six short (or long??) months of launching our network and content studio, our small but mighty team has secured distribution deals with five streaming services. Five. I’m still in awe of what we’ve accomplished, and this is only the beginning.
For those new to Creator Television, I invite you to stream incredible creator-led franchises, from Jenny Lorenzo’s “Latinos Be Like” to Julie Nolke’s “Julie’s Fine, Everything’s Fine”, to Lenarr Young’s “Making It Weird,” and more.
Check it out for yourself. Maybe one day mom and dad will, too.
